Grizzlies did great swimming at our third meet. It was nice to get a double win to end the year!  Glasgow was just the right size for some good competition for us.  The Girls won 95 to 74 and the boys won 72 to 70!   Two boy team records were broken at this meet.

Sam Calhoun broke the team record (his own) in the 100 Freestyle again by dropping another two and a half seconds off the record time. (1:00.72).  Sam also swam another personal best in the 50 Freestyle.  The other record broken was the boys 200 Medley Relay swum by Ethan Edge, Nathan Hunter, Sam Calhoun, and Daniel Schea.  Ethan Edge swam a personal best time in the 100 Butterfly.  Ethan also swam the 100 Breaststroke for us for the first time (he volunteered for that).  Zach Watson swam a personal best time in the 100 Freestyle by dropping three seconds off his time.  Chip Moore has continued to drop time off his 100 Freestyle this year and swam very near to his best time in the 100 Freestyle.  Sam, Zach, and Chip took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the 100 Freestyle.  I do not remember that happening in any event before.  That was a lot of points in that event.  Daniel Schea took an amazing 45 seconds off his 500 Freestyle practice time!    Sam Calhoun and Nathan Hunter earned three first place finishes.  Ethan Edge earned two first place finishes.  Zach Watson earned a first place finish.  Second place finishes were earned by Sam Calhoun, Ethan Edge (2), Nathan Hunter, Chip Moore, Timmy O’Sullivan (2), Daniel Schea (3), and Zach Watson (2).  Third place finishes were earned by Chip Moore, Timmy O’Sullivan, and Zach Watson.

We are excited to have another fast swimmer, Gabriela Poletaev, swim with us in her first high school meet.  She swam the 200 IM and the 100 Freestyle in very quick times.  Haley Hughes swam a personal best time in the 200 Freestyle.  Sydney Hughes swam personal best times in both the 50 Freestyle and the 500 Freestyle. Caroline Plummer swam personal best times in both the 50 Freestyle and the 100 Butterfly.  Abby Plummer swam personal best times in both the 50 Freestyle and the 500 Freestyle (dropping an amazing 26 seconds off her practice time).  Jillian Feeley swam a personal best in the 100 Butterfly, dropping a big five seconds in that event.  Caroline, Jillian, and Abbey Close earned 1st, 2nd, and 4th places in the fly, outscoring Glasgow 12 to 4.  Abbey Plummer and Sydney Hughes took 1st and 2nd in the 500 Freestyle, outscoring Glasgow 10 to 0 in that event.  In the 200 Freestyle relays, Emily Hunter, Jillian Feeley, Kaysa Lammers, Caroline Plummer, Haley Hughes, Abbey Close, Gabriela Poletaev, and Abby Plummer took 1st and 2nd places in the relay, outscoring Glasgow 12 to 2.  They could not recover from these events. Abby Pepitone swam personal best times in the 100 Freestyle and the 100 Breaststroke (dropping a big seven seconds off her time).  Kaysa Lammers swam some great times despite dealing with back pains during the meet.  Julia Close did a great job in swimming the 200 IM for the first time for us.  Emily Hunter and Caroline Plummer earned three first place finishes.   Jillian Feeley and Kaysa Lammers each earned two first place finishes.  Abby Plummer earned a first place finish.  Second place finishes were earned by Abbey Close, Jillian Feeley (2), Haley Hughes (2), Sydney Hughes (2), Emily Hunter, Kaysa Lammers (2), Gabriela Poletaev (2), Abby Plummer (2), and Caroline Plummer.  Third place finishes were earned by Abbey Close, Julia Close, Haley Hughes, Sydney Hughes, Abby Pepitone, Abby Plummer, and Gabriela Poletaev (2).
