Grizzly Girls & Boys Win Over Caravel

Nice job, Grizzlies, against Caravel.  Their girls’ team is huge this year, but we did well against them, winning five of the events.  The score was 101 to 69. Congratulations to the boys for winning 75 to 54, taking first place in seven of the events.  One team record was broken.  Both the boys and girls team records are now 3 wins/3 losses.

Nathan Hunter broke the 100 Backstroke team record (his own) by four seconds. Ethan Edge swam a personal best by dropping an amazing 19 seconds off his 200 freestyle time.  Timmy O’Sullivan swam a personal best in the 500 freestyle, dropping a huge 16 seconds off his time.  Zachary Watson swam a personal best time in the 50 freestyle, dropping more than a second.  Daniel Schea swam a personal best in the 100 freestyle.  Swimmers who swam a near personal best included Sam Calhoun in the 50 freestyle, Chip Moore in the 200 freestyle, Daniel Schea in the 100 Breaststroke, Nathan Hunter in the 200 IM, and Timmy O’Sullivan in the 50 freestyle.  Sam Calhoun earned four first place finishes, Ethan Edge and Nathan Hunter earned three first place finishes, Daniel Schea earned two first place finishes, and Zachary Watson earned a first place finish.  Second place finishes were earned by Timmy O’Sullivan (2), Ethan Edge, Nathan Hunter, Daniel Schea, Chip Moore, and Zachary Watson.  Third place finishes were earned by Daniel Schea, Zachary Watson, and Chip Moore.

Sydney Hughes swam two personal best times by dropping four seconds off her 100 Butterfly time and four seconds off her 100 Backstroke time.  Abby Plummer swam a personal best time by dropping five seconds off her 200 IM time.  Abby Pepitone swam a personal best time in the 100 Backstroke by dropping three seconds off her time.  Abbey Close swam her 500 freestyle 10 seconds faster than she did last time.  Haley Hughes swam a personal best in the 50 freestyle.  Swimmers who swam a near personal best included Haley Hughes in the 100 freestyle, Gabriela Poletaev in the 200 Freestyle, Caroline Plummer in the 100 freestyle, Abby Pepitone in the 100 freestyle, Abby Plummer in the 100 Breaststroke, and Julia Close in the 100 Breaststroke.  Caroline Plummer earned three first place finishes.  Gabriela Poletaev and Emily Hunter earned two first place finishes.  Jillian Feeley earned a first place finish.  Second place finishes were earned by Emily Hunter (2), Jillian Feeley (2), Gabriela Poletaev, Caroline Plummer, and Abby Plummer.  Third place finishes were earned by Abby Plummer (2), Haley Hughes (2), Jillian Feeley, Gabriela Poletaev, Sydney Hughes, Abby Pepitone, Abbey Close, and Julia Close.
