Why Everyone Should Come to Praise and Prayer Night by Kevin O’Shaughnessy
Praise and Prayer Night on January 28 at Mount Sophia is going to be a joyful time! A delicious potluck dinner starts the evening. It is a great time to have dinner and meet new people who might not be in your classes. Talking about things that we all have in common is an enjoyable experience. The food is tasty, the people are friendly, and the praise and prayer are good.
After dinner the Praise Band plays worship songs, and everyone praises God together through the music. It’s fun because people like me get to show off some talent for God, and we get to worship with the people with whom we just ate and socialized. The praise music gets people in the mood to pray during the next part of the service.
The next and most important part of the evening is prayer. Everyone breaks up into small groups to pray together. We pray for our country, our leaders, parts of the world that are in poverty or war, our churches, our school and our students. Praying together helps us know needs to keep on praying for. Praising God and praying together are two of the best ways we can change our culture for Christ.
I feel sorry for anyone who misses Praise and Prayer Night. Don’t let it be you!
