Boys State Swimming Prelim Results by Coach Hunters

Posted on March 1, 2020 by Author in Quick Updates No Comments

Grizzlies,

The boys swam really great at the State Prelims!  Everyone swam personal bests or near personal best times in all their events.

The boys 200 Medley Relay team of Logan Edge, Reilly Magargee, Adam Overman, and Cai Hepner swam a 1:51.70, dropping more than 3 seconds off their season-best time, and that was a time that they had just recently dropped 3 seconds off of during our William Penn meet.  They moved up 4 places and took 17th place in the event.  All four guys swam personal best split times.  Logan swam a personal best 50 Backstroke split time of 29.88, dropping almost a second.  Reilly Magargee swam a personal best (and team best again) 50 Breaststroke split time of 30.18, dropping 1 second.  Adam Overman swam a personal best 50 Butterfly split time of 25.83.  Cai Hepner swam a personal best 50 Freestyle split time of 25.81.

Adam Overman moved up 4 places to take 22nd place in the 200 IM.  He swam a 2:17.93, dropping a second off his best time. This moved Adam from #5 to #4 on the all-time top 16 list for that event.

Reilly Magargee moved up 9 places to take 76th place in the 50 Freestyle. He swam a 25.24, dropping more than half a second off his best time.  This moved Reilly from #9 to #7 on the all-time top 16 list for that event.

The boys 200 Freestyle Relay team of Logan Edge, James Teodoro, Jacob Rainbow, and Cai Hepner took 26th place.  Logan swam a personal best 50 Freestyle time of 26.81 as leadoff.  This time moved Logan onto the all-time top 16 list at #16 for this event.  James Teodoro swam a personal best 50 Freestyle split time of 27.28, dropping more than a half-second.  Jacob Rainbow swam a personal best 50 Freestyle split time of 25.61, dropping 1.5 seconds.

Adam Overman moved up 6 places to take 19th place in the 100 Backstroke.  Adam swam a 1:01.33, dropping more than 2 seconds off his personal best time.  Adam is currently ranked #5 on the all-time top 16 list for this event.

Reilly Magargee moved up 6 places to take 18th place in the 100 Breaststroke.  Reilly swam a 1:06.98, dropping another second off his personal best time.  This moves Reilly from #3 to #2 on the all-time top 16 list for this event and within 2.5 seconds of the team record!

The boys 400 Freestyle Relay team of Logan Edge, Cai Hepner, Reilly Magargee, and Adam Overman moved up one place to take 23rd place.  They swam a 3:54.36, dropping 6 seconds off their season-best time.  Reilly swam a personal best 100 freestyle split time of 57.29.  Adam swam a personal best 100 Freestyle split time of 54.56.

Way to go, guys!

Thanks to coaches Kess Adams, Brynn Adams, and Summer Edge.  Thanks to our managers: Amanda Edge and Hannah Ritter.  Thanks to our helper parents: Julie Rainbow and Debbie Edge.

Thanks to our State Championship alternate swimmer: Gabriel Quinones for being there today.

Thanks to all of our spectators, including swimmers, managers, and family members up in the stands taking pictures and making a lot of noise cheering on the team!
