Keyla Quiñones was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico. She worked at the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services for six years. After having her first child, she left her job and opened her own certified Family Child Day Care for four years. This gave her more time with her baby as she was able to care for and educate some of her friend’s children. During this time, she felt the calling to homeschool her boys.
Mrs. Quiñones served in the Children and Youth Ministry at her local church for 21 years. As a Spanish teacher, she had the opportunity to teach at Towle Institute in Delaware for two years and at the Wednesday Co-op for nine years. She taught online Spanish classes for elementary, middle, and high school students at Greater Castle Academy and Skrafty Homeschool.
Her older child graduated from Mt. Sophia Academy in 2022, and her middle child will be graduating in 2023. Currently, she is homeschooling her youngest boy and continues tutoring and teaching online classes.
